Yarram Park are delighted to offer this year’s draft of performance bulls for your consideration.
Another extremely challenging year seasonally throughout much of Victoria, NSW and Queensland, but despite this stock are weighing and selling strongly with excellent demand for all categories of livestock.
Our specially selected sale team will present in good paddock working order, and have been run under strictly commercial conditions at Yarram Park. They are a powerful and very well balanced line up of older proven genetics, with a good blend of more recent bloodlines introduced over the last couple of years. There will also be a selection of Poll Hereford bulls for your appraisal.
After several years of Progeny Test Steer Trials with the Australian Hereford Society, we were delighted with the release of results in 2014. The number 1 ranked and standout sire for EMA was Yarram Lottery E025, by the well proven Yarram Lottery X122. Tested under commercial conditions, this was a very worthy trial. X122 also remains the top bull in Australia for short gestation length, and is in the top 1% for carcase EBV’s.
We continue to receive excellent demand for semen in one of our feature home bred sires, Yarram Unique F181, with considerable use in Australia, England and Ireland studs.
Congratulations to both Joyce McConnell and James Rawson for their outstanding steer sales during 2014. Steers ranging from 13 to 15 months of age pure Yarram Park blood sold into feedlots averaging over $1,000 per head. A great reflection on management, weight for age, and breeding.
The annual run of weaner sales again featured strong results with Yarram Park blood progeny. Best presented Pens of steers were won at Elders Hamilton sale, Geoff and Di Notman, (Mt. Widderin), Hamilton Independent Sale, Leon Wheeler, and Elders Casterton Sale, Peter, Jo, Geordie and Abbie Tait.
